About the Role
We're looking for an experienced MEP Projects Manager to lead complex mechanical, electrical, and plumbing projects from concept through successful completion. You'll own project delivery end-to-end, coordinating across clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams while maintaining strict adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. This is a hands-on leadership role where your decisions directly impact project success and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets for MEP systems; track progress against baselines and implement corrective actions to maintain schedule and cost performance
- Coordinate and manage relationships with clients, design consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers; conduct regular site meetings and provide timely project updates to stakeholders
- Oversee MEP installation quality, safety compliance, and adherence to specifications; conduct inspections, resolve deficiencies, and ensure punch list completion before project closeout
- Lead procurement activities including bid management, vendor selection, and contract negotiation for MEP materials and services
- Manage project documentation, RFIs, change orders, and submittals; maintain organized records and ensure regulatory compliance throughout project lifecycle
- Mentor junior project coordinators and field teams; communicate technical requirements clearly to ensure proper execution of MEP work
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience managing MEP projects in commercial or industrial construction environments
- Proven track record delivering projects on schedule and within budget, with demonstrated cost control and risk management experience
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, codes (IBC, NEC, IPC), and industry best practices
- Proficiency with project management software (Primavera, MS Project, or equivalent) and experience with BIM coordination tools
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills; ability to manage multiple stakeholders and resolve conflicts professionally
- PMP certification or equivalent project management credential preferred
- Nice to have: Experience with LEED projects, sustainability-focused MEP design, or familiarity with MEP-specific scheduling software like Touchplan
