MEP Draftsman

About the Role

We're looking for a detail-oriented MEP Draftsman to translate engineering concepts into precise, buildable drawings for commercial and industrial construction projects. You'll work closely with our engineering team and contractors to ensure every mechanical, electrical, and plumbing system is accurately documented and ready for installation. Your drawings will directly impact project timelines and construction quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed MEP drawings from engineer sketches and specifications using CAD software, ensuring accuracy and compliance with building codes and industry standards
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineers to resolve design conflicts and incorporate revisions into drawing sets
• Prepare construction documents including plan views, sections, details, and schedules for multiple building systems
• Conduct quality checks on drawings for completeness, consistency, and adherence to project standards before distribution to contractors
• Collaborate with project managers and contractors to clarify drawing intent and support construction problem-solving in the field
• Maintain organized drawing files and documentation, tracking revisions and ensuring version control across project phases

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as an MEP Draftsman or similar technical drafting role in architecture or engineering firms
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar); experience with Revit MEP is highly preferred
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and how they integrate in building design
• Solid knowledge of building codes, standards, and construction practices relevant to MEP systems
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, dimensioned drawings
• Nice to have: Experience with BIM coordination or 3D modeling software
• Nice to have: Familiarity with construction administration or field experience
