HSE Officer

About the Role

We're looking for a dedicated HSE Officer to champion safety and environmental standards across our engineering project sites. You'll be the driving force behind creating a proactive safety culture, ensuring our teams go home healthy every day while maintaining full regulatory compliance. This is a hands-on role where your expertise directly protects our people and protects our business.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards, assess risks, and document compliance with HSE regulations and company policies
• Develop, implement, and update HSE procedures, training programs, and safety protocols tailored to project-specific requirements
• Investigate accidents, near-misses, and incidents; document findings and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Lead safety toolbox talks, inductions, and training sessions for site personnel at all levels to build awareness and competency
• Liaise with regulatory bodies, clients, and external auditors to ensure adherence to legal requirements and industry standards
• Monitor HSE performance metrics, maintain records, and prepare reports for management and stakeholder review

Requirements

• Valid NEBOSH Certification (IGC or equivalent) — this is non-negotiable
• 3-5 years of hands-on HSE experience in engineering, construction, or manufacturing environments
• Strong knowledge of relevant regulations (OSHA, local labor laws, environmental standards applicable to your region)
• Proven ability to conduct risk assessments, manage incident investigations, and develop corrective action plans
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence behavior change and build safety culture at all organizational levels
• Nice to have: Experience with HSE management software, ISO 45001 implementation, or SHEQ certifications
• Nice to have: Background in environmental compliance or sustainability initiatives
