Senior Purchaser - Electro Mechanical Material

About the Role

We're seeking a Senior Purchaser to lead our electro-mechanical material procurement operations across active projects in the UAE. You'll be the critical link between our project teams and suppliers, ensuring we get the right materials at the right price without compromising quality or timelines. This role offers significant autonomy to shape our vendor relationships and drive cost savings across our supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with electro-mechanical suppliers across the UAE market, managing quotations and finalizing contracts that balance cost, quality, and delivery timelines
• Coordinate directly with project teams to clarify material specifications, quantities, and delivery schedules, translating technical requirements into procurement actions
• Monitor and execute bulk purchases while tracking shipments to ensure on-time delivery and minimize project delays
• Build and maintain long-term vendor relationships, conducting regular performance reviews and identifying alternative suppliers to mitigate supply chain risks
• Analyze market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supplier performance data to identify cost optimization opportunities and present recommendations to management
• Maintain comprehensive procurement records, documentation, and compliance files to support audits and project closeouts

Requirements

• 5+ years of procurement experience, with at least 2 years managing electro-mechanical or industrial materials in the UAE market
• Proven track record negotiating supplier contracts and achieving cost reductions (target: 10%+ annually) without quality compromise
• Strong knowledge of MEP materials, specifications, and suppliers operating in the UAE construction and industrial sectors
• Excellent vendor management skills with demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive supplier relationships
• Proficiency in procurement software and Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus
• Nice to have: Experience with large-scale projects (AED 5M+ annual procurement budget) or familiarity with ISO procurement standards
• Nice to have: Arabic language skills for enhanced supplier communication
