Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize our company’s databases. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring database performance, security, integrity, and availability while supporting business-critical applications. The DBA will work closely with IT teams, developers, and management to ensure smooth data operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain database management systems (DBMS).
- Monitor database performance and optimize queries for maximum efficiency.
- Perform regular database backups, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
- Ensure high availability and security of databases.
- Implement data models and database design improvements.
- Troubleshoot database-related issues and provide timely resolutions.
- Manage user access controls and permissions.
- Perform routine database patching and upgrades.
- Maintain documentation related to database architecture and processes.
- Collaborate with developers to improve application performance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience as a Database Administrator or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of database systems such as:
- MySQL
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Oracle
- PostgreSQL
- Experience with database backup, recovery, and performance tuning.
- Knowledge of SQL scripting and query optimization.
- Understanding of data security standards and best practices.
- Familiarity with cloud databases (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is a plus.
