Assistant Manager – Vendor Management

About the Role

We're looking for an Assistant Manager of Vendor Management to take ownership of our vendor relationships and supply chain operations. You'll work directly with suppliers to optimize costs, improve delivery performance, and ensure we consistently receive high-quality products. This role is critical to our retail operations—you'll drive tangible improvements in efficiency and profitability while building partnerships that support our long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and nurture relationships with key vendors, conducting regular performance reviews and negotiations to secure favorable terms while maintaining quality standards
• Implement vendor management best practices and process improvements that reduce costs, minimize waste, and accelerate time-to-delivery
• Monitor vendor performance metrics (on-time delivery, quality, responsiveness) and develop action plans to address gaps or underperformance
• Collaborate with procurement, operations, and merchandising teams to align vendor strategies with business objectives and seasonal demand forecasts
• Identify and evaluate new vendor opportunities to diversify the supply base and introduce innovative products or cost-saving solutions
• Maintain vendor scorecards and documentation; prepare reports on vendor performance, cost savings, and supply chain efficiency for leadership

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in vendor management, procurement, supply chain, or retail operations
• Proven track record of successfully negotiating contracts and driving measurable cost reductions or efficiency improvements
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, data analysis, and vendor performance tracking systems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities—you'll be comfortable building relationships and resolving conflicts with vendors and internal stakeholders
• Experience managing multiple vendor relationships simultaneously and prioritizing in a fast-paced retail environment
• Nice to have: Familiarity with retail inventory systems, ERP software, or supply chain management platforms
• Nice to have: Certification in procurement, supply chain management, or related field
