Project Manager - Automation & Lighting Division

About the Role

We're looking for a Project Manager to own the complete lifecycle of commercial and industrial lighting automation projects. You'll manage everything from contract award through final commissioning, working with cross-functional teams to deliver complex DALI, KNX, and building management system integrations on time and on budget. This role reports directly to leadership and has direct impact on customer satisfaction and project profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end project execution including contract review, scope definition, technical submittals, installation coordination, commissioning, and final closeout for lighting and automation projects
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource plans; track progress against milestones and communicate status to stakeholders weekly
• Coordinate with engineering, installation, and commissioning teams to ensure technical requirements are met and quality standards are maintained throughout project delivery
• Conduct site visits and inspections to verify work quality, safety compliance, and adherence to project specifications; document findings and manage corrective actions
• Manage customer relationships including change orders, scope clarifications, and issue resolution; serve as primary point of contact for project communications
• Maintain project documentation including submittals, RFIs, test reports, and as-built records; ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements

Requirements

• 5+ years of project management experience in commercial/industrial lighting, electrical systems, or building automation (DALI, KNX, PLC, or BMS experience preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects with budgets of $500K+ and coordinate teams across multiple disciplines
• Strong organizational skills with proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent) and ability to track multiple concurrent projects
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interface effectively with customers, engineers, and field teams
• Knowledge of electrical safety standards, building codes, and project management best practices
• Nice to have: PMP or equivalent project management certification
• Nice to have: Experience with smart building systems, IoT integration, or energy management platforms
